Peace in Wild Places captures the mood of a foggy Smoky Mtns trail, miles away from cares and worries. This photo was taken along the Appalachian Trail at an altitude above 6000 feet near Clingmans Dome. To me the image spoke to the enduring peace that can be found in remote natural areas. I especially love to take hikes at the higher elevations in the Smokies where it feels so remote and removed from the problems and craziness of today’s world.
Peace in Wild Places is offered in all sizes. Details of sizes and pricing can be found on at the bottom of the How to Buy page. You can also purchase framed or unframed versions of this image from my online store

I’ve been visiting the Smokies for close to 35 years and have hiked many trails. I mostly enjoy the higher elevation hikes along the mountain ridges. For some unknown reason, each time I visit the area I always feel like I have returned home. As I stumbled upon your photos through a web search, they bring me back to the mountains even when I’m far away. Thanks for all your majestic photographs. I plan on talking my wife into purchasing a few in the near future.
Thank you, Chuck. Please stop in and say hi on your next visit.
